My 18 year old son, sadly, is not vegan and when we go to Taco Bell he always gets the Crunch Wrap.ย Besides the meat, cheese and sour cream ๐ it always looks so good.ย I decided that I would make a vegan crunch wrap that he and the rest of us can eat. ย It tastes amazing and and is a whole lot more healthier than the original version.
I love this simple version but feel free to change things up by using vegan meat, olives, vegan cheese and vegan sour cream. ย This is your crunch wrap, make it yummy!

Vegan Crunch Wrap with baked tostado inside
I highly recommend baking your own tostada by putting a corn tortilla in the oven until it is crispy. ย The store bought tostadas are fried and unhealthy.

- Spread a thin layer of beans on one side of a flour tortilla in the shape of the tostada. Top with the baked tostada. Spread another thin layer of beans on top of the tostada. Add the salsa and desired veggies to the beans.
- Fold the sides over the fillings tightly, but not so tight as to rip the tortilla sides. If there is small uncovered hole in the center use a small piece of another tortilla to fill the hole from the inside.
- Heat a large frying pan to medium heat and spray with a small amount of cooking spray. Lay the folded side down first and fry until golden brown. Flip and serve immediately. ENJOY!

I made these last night and they were incredible! So easy and so flavorful. My husband absolutely LOVED them ๐ Thanks for the recipe!!!
Sarah,
I’m so glad they turned out good for you guys! I love hearing feedback and good feed back is the best :). We had them last night too and I made my black bean guacamole to dip them and OMG they were even better!

Just found your blog from Finding Vegan and I love it! I was wondering what brand of tortillas you were using in this recipe? I am always uncertain as to whether tortillas are vegan or not…
Hi Alysa,
Thank you for the compliment on my blog! Honestly I can’t remember what brand they were. I just read the back of the package to see and chose which ones are the softest and biggest for this recipe at the time. Most of them are vegan by accident but there are a few with lard in them. I have not found any whole wheat ones that are big enough for this one so I end up using the unhealthy white ones with hydrogenated oils but we don’t eat them every day ๐ Good luck

this reminds me of something i did about a year ago. back in my omnivorous days, i used to love crap food–especially taco bell–and the beef and potato burrito was my jam. so one day when i was having a bit of a weak moment, i decided to make a vegan version. nutritional yeast nacho cheese sauce, TVP taco meat and chunked up russets in a flour tortilla…and it was every bit as good (probably better) than the original. it’s fun to see i’m not the only crazy person that gets ideas for vegan cuisine from taco bell! i went veg before the crunch wrap came into being, but i eagerly look forward to making my own at home ๐
Aaron,
Pleasing a family of 6 which included my meat eating husband and 19 year old son can be a bit of a challenge. Things like this help them be more open minded to trying new things and hopefully moving further the vegan direction for at a minimum their health. I am not a perfectly healthy vegan like I dream of being and sinful things look just as good to me as they do most other people so YES you are not the only crazy one that wants to veganize things from Taco Bell or any other place. I hope you give it a try and let me know what you thought and what changes you made to personalize it so I can try that too! ๐

just wanted to let u knw that the next time you go to taco bell just ask them to substitute the meat for beans. They do that.
